the bush legacy?
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· LAW ENFORCEMENT: I was arrested in Kennebunkport, Maine, in 1976 for driving under the influence of alcohol. I pled guilty, paid a fine, and had my driver’s license suspended for 30 days. My Texas driving record has been lost" and is not available.

MILITARY: I joined the Texas Air National Guard and went AWOL. I refused to take a drug test or answer any questions about my drug use. By joining the Texas Air National Guard, I was able to avoid combat duty in Vietnam.
COLLEGE: I graduated from Yale University with a low C average. I was a cheerleader.
PAST WORK EXPERIENCE:

I ran for U.S. Congress and lost.
I began my career in the oil business in Midland, Texas, in 1975. I bought an oil company, but couldn’t find any oil in Texas. The company went bankrupt shortly after I sold all my stock.
I bought the Texas Rangers baseball team in a sweetheart deal that took land using taxpayer money.
With the help of my father and our right-wing friends in the oil industry (including Enron CEO Ken Lay), I was elected governor of Texas.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS GOVERNOR OF TEXAS:

I changed Texas pollution laws to favor power and oil companies, making Texas the most polluted state in the Union.
During my tenure, Houston replaced Los Angeles as the most smog-ridden city in America.
I cut taxes and bankrupted the Texas treasury to the tune of billions in borrowed money.
I set the record for the most executions by any governor in American history.
With the help of my brother, the governor of Florida, and my father’s appointments to the Supreme Court, I became President after losing by over 500,000 votes.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS PRESIDENT:

I am the first President in U.S. history to enter office with a criminal record.
I invaded and occupied two countries at a continuing cost of over one billion dollars per week.
I spent the U.S. surplus and effectively bankrupted the U.S. Treasury.
I shattered the record for the largest annual deficit in U.S. history.
I set an economic record for most private bankruptcies filed in any 12-month period.
I set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a 12-month period.
In my first year in office, over 2 million Americans lost their jobs and that figure has risen to over 3 million lost jobs by the end of 2003.
I’m proud that the members of my cabinet are the richest of any administration in U.S. history.
My "poorest millionaire," Condoleeza Rice, has a Chevron oil tanker named after her.
I set the record for most campaign fund-raising trips by a U.S. President.
I am the all-time U.S. and world record-holder for receiving the most corporate campaign donations.
My largest lifetime campaign contributor, and one of my best friends, Kenneth Lay, presided over the largest corporate bankruptcy fraud in U.S. history, Enron.
My political party used Enron private jets and corporate attorneys to assure my success with the U.S. Supreme Court during my election decision.
I have protected my friends at Enron and Halliburton against investigation or prosecution. More time and money was spent investigating the Monica Lewinsky affair than has been spent investigating one of the biggest corporate rip-offs in history.
I presided over the biggest energy crisis in U.S. history and refused to intervene when corruption involving the oil industry was revealed.
I presided over the highest gasoline prices in U.S. history.
I changed the U.S. policy to allow convicted criminals to be awarded government contracts.
I appointed more convicted criminals to administration than any President in U.S. history.
I created the Ministry of Homeland Security, the largest bureaucracy in the history of the United States government.
I’ve broken more international treaties than any President in U.S. history.
I am the first President in U.S. history to have the United Nations remove the U.S. from the Human Rights Commission.
I withdrew the U.S. from the World Court of Law.
I refused to allow inspectors access to U.S. "prisoners of war" detainees and thereby have refused to abide by the Geneva Convention.
I am the first President in history to refuse United Nations election inspectors (during the 2002 U.S. election).
I set the record for fewest number of press conferences of any President since the advent of television.
I set the the all-time record for most days on vacation in any one-year period.
After taking off the entire month of August, 2001, I presided over the worst security failure in U.S. history.
I garnered the most sympathy for the U.S. after the World Trade Center attacks and less than a year later made the U.S. the most hated country in the world, the largest failure of diplomacy in world history.
I have set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simultaneously protest me in public venues (15 million people), shattering the record for protest against any person in the history of mankind.
I am the first President in U.S. history to order an unprovoked, pre-emptive attack and the military occupation of a sovereign nation. I did so against the will of the United Nations, the majority of U.S. citizens, and the world community.
I have cut health care benefits for war veterans and support a cut in duty benefits for active duty troops and their families — in war time.
In my State of the Union Address, I lied about our reasons for attacking Iraq, then blamed the lies on our British friends.
I am the first President in history to have a majority of Europeans (71%) view my presidency as the biggest threat to world peace and security.
I am supporting development of a nuclear "Tactical Bunker Buster," a WMD.
I have so far failed to fulfill my pledge to bring Osama Bin Laden to justice.
RECORDS AND REFERENCES:

All records of my tenure as governor of Texas are now in my father’s library, sealed and unavailable for public view.
All records of SEC investigations into my insider trading and my bankrupt companies are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view.

I am only 25 years old and have a little over ,000 in revolving debt. About ,000 is unsecured credit card debt and ,000 is on a leased car. I am getting over my head in bills and falling behind by about 3 months on most of my credit card bills. I have creditors calling me and I avoid all calls now because they are so rude (as if I owe them personally). I am under so much stress that my health is being affected. I met with a credit counselor regarding debt management and came up with a plan to pay 0 a month to pay towards my debts, over a period of 5 years. I added it up and the debts I will be paying is only going towards the ,000 credit card debt and 0/month for 12 months for 5 years equals out to be ,000 that I will pay out on a 000 debt, well over what I originally owe. Also, I have done my research and debt management seems very similar to filing Chapter 13, so I am considering filing for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, can somebody clarify what my advantages are over the disadvantages. I know that filing for bankruptcy is bad on my credit but I think that if I file bankruptcy it will be easier for me to save money towards big major purchases in the longrun. Plus I am only 25. Assuming by the time I am 30 it should be alll good right? Am I thinking naively? Also I was thinking that if I file before my fiance and I get married, it would be much better? Also what exactly do I need to qualify for a Chapter 7? Please help!!!!

My husband and I are in our third year of Chapter 13.

Husband is set to get a bonus of around ,000. There is an option that it could be direct deposited within 2-3 days…otherwise the next option is to receive the bonus on an American Express debit card and this will take a month.

If we set this up as a direct deposit, would the trustee be flagged on it and perhaps seize the bonus?

(No morality responses please. We’ve handed over our income tax refunds, stimulus checks and my bonuses for 3 years now…We are in a HORRIBLE bind right now and need this bonus…)

My husband and I would like to buy a home.
We know we don’t have the best credit, we both made mistakes when we were younger.
But no bankruptcies or repositions anything like that. All credit card late payments and such.

I’ve done some research online but there is just so much information!
Some of our friends have gotten mortgages that I know have to have bad credit.

What we need is someone that will sit down with us and tell us what exactly we need to do, in what order, to get approved.

Any suggestions?

My GF has a few accounts that have went into collections. Accounts that she had prior to us getting together. We have both fell into a little bit of financial trouble seeing as how our condo (that we are renting) has went into foreclosure right from under our feet. She was told from one of her friends to contact a debt consolidation company and they will help her to take care of the k worth of debt that she has that has went to collections. i have found other things online (please see following link)

http://www.creditinfocenter.com/debt/DebtConsolCompanies.shtml

that advise against such things BUT there is no real reason WHY… we would both like a chance to breathe and would like a 2nd chance to get our credit back into a respectable boundary. I dont care if the consolidation company is going to make money off of us as long as we can start paying down these bills a little at a time and get back on track with the rest of society. Neither of us have and repositions or bankruptcies she just has some credit card issues and a "cosmetic" ;-) medical bill that needs to get paid off…

thanks in advance for any info.

Ok 2 million people a year going bankrupt from being wiped out by medical bills.

3/4 of those people that go bankrupt were insured before the illness took place. My point is, the insurance now does very very little to protect against a serious illness like cancer.

I dont get it, why are people so stupid? You might be happy with the insurance you have now, but wait till the illness gets expensive… they either cheat you out of the coverage or jack the rates so high that you cant pay.

Do you really think insurance companies are going to cancel your insurance if you go to the doctor for a common cold with a 0 bill? They wait till it gets expensive and then screw you over, even though its likely they could cheat you out of the 0 bill, they wont do it to everyone because they dont want YOU to know about how they really are.

My god just watch Sicko or look up the stats yourself online…

Why cant we just have more sympathy? Obama isnt the answer, he is a lying chicago politician who got put into power by the FED/banks/AIG. When Obama tells millions of people that we can get the "public option", it is just smoke and mirrors. His public option isnt going to get passed, he is just pretending to try knowing full well that it cant be funded or implemented.

Sadly, he isnt going up against the insurance companies. In 1 FOUL SWOOP of Obamas pen, he couldve made it so that importations of medicine from Canada and other countries would become legal again (some medications can cost 800x more then their ingredient value in the USA), but has he done this yet?…. Why hasnt he done this?….

The american bankruptcies will continue and rise as expected. Until we get something like that of Canada or France’s system, we are going to be caughing up all our money to hospitals.

Nothing has changed, Obama isnt going to help, its up to everyone here to get it done!

If I do this will I lose my home? Its worth less than my mortgage at this point in time!

My mom and my step dad have declared bankruptcy one or two times in the last 10 years. My older brother now lives with them because his health hasn’t been so great for some time. Needless to say their credit isn’t so good after filing for bankruptcys. Now I hear the bank has gone to foreclose their home and they say to us, their adult children that they have their lawyer working on it but don’t tell us much else. My parents havent made such great choices about their money in the past so we are pretty skeptical. Not only that a majior reason why they are in this finacial hell is because my step dad fell for an internet e-mail scam. I and my brother am trying to help them as much as we can with our own practical smarts but they haven’t told us any details so far. From what we gather my parents could be housless come Febuary. What can be done to help them legally and, or what would you do about all this?
I don’t know what form of bankruptcy they have filed this time.. but they say they will be required to pay all of their bankruptcy debts off and keep up with all of their incoming future bills they will have too.
Step dad works two jobs. My mom is on disability. My older brother also works but he is the one who has been sick (and even though its not HIV or AIDS he may also be ill for years to come too) is now working at a Taco Del Mar.

A friend of mine is currently in a chapter 13. He needs to convert to a chapter 7 and was told he would have to submit a notice of conversion letter. We are in North Carolina and there are no forms that can be filled out. Does anyone know where he can obtain a sample notice of conversion letter? He just wants to get an idea of what he has to include on the letter he is writing. Thanks for your help!!

I have been working with someone from almost a year now. my agent keeps bringing me people that have had bankruptcies and leans on their homes! Plus he keeps bringing me people that want to rent. In the Begining of June my realtor told me that he had someone that wanted to rent my home with the option to buy. It seemed like a go. So I started packing. I asked my realtor when I would receive monies for my security and rent. He told me that the people would pay me the day they moved in?. I told him that was unacceptable and that I need $ up front. He came up with every excuse you could possiblity think of for them not to have to pay me. I told him that the deal was off! (i’m in no position to move out of my home with NO $ upfront) Then I look online to see that my realtor took my home off of the market for a month! I have a contract till sept. I want to drop him but the contract says I can’t. What should I do? please any idea’s appreciated! thanks
I neglected to mention that my realtor owns his own company he’s the head honcho), and I have 4 more months on my contract with him.

I filed Chapter 13 in 10/04. Since then my income has nearly doubled. I want to increase my monthly payments to end my Chapter 13 sooner than the 5 years I have. I am curently paying 1% of secured debt. Will that increase? What if I sell my house, will the 1% increase then?

No felonies, misdemeanors, bankruptcies, DUI’s, nothing – and I have a current/valid license (except I think I let my insurance lapse, I only drive work vehicles & they’re insured).

If it were between me & other candidates, they would not pick me – because my credit is bad (student loans) – not even sure if they’ll check credit – but would they renig the offer if they discovered this?

Also I accidentally skipped jury duty last year, but I don’t think I got in trouble for it b/c I paid for a background check on myself online & there were no warrants on me…..and a cop let me go for speeding a few weeks ago (after checking my license) – is this a good sign the law is not looking for me due to unpaid parking tickets?

How deep will they dig, and what is the worst case scenario? :(
I was mistaken – car insurance isn’t lapsed.

And hopefully if I was in trouble for jury duty or parking tickets it would’ve shown up on the online background check I did this week…?

BUT STUDENT LOANS ARE A BIG DEAL…..IF THEY FIND THESE AS 2 HARD INQUIRIES ON MY CREDIT (IN THE EVENT THEY CHECK THIS) AM I SCREWED!?

Were considering chapter 13 and I have been doing some research online. I read that we will have to have a meeting with creditors? All of ours is credit card debt. Do representatives from CC’s really show up? Seems like with the number of bankruptcies these days it would be hard for CCs to have all these meetings?? Please, has anyone gone through one of these meetings? What should I expect. We have not met with a lawyer yet. We are still in the planning stages. We’d like to file chapter 7 but don’t think we will qualify.

I filed chapter 7 bankruptcy due to a failed business and was discharged about 9 months ago. In my bankruptcy filings I surrendered my house and moved out after the filing. To this date the bank has not yet foreclosed on the property and I was just taken to court for the 450/month HOA dues for the past year. The house has been empty all this time and now I am out over K. I thought about renting out the place to recover some of this money , but I am concerned that there may be consequences to renting when you are technically in foreclosure. I want to accelerate the foreclosure process and get rid of this issue and get on with my life, but not sure how to proceed. Any guidance would be appreciated.

he lost his job. He got another job in June, that pays very very well. But, yesterday she gets a Motion of relief of stay. She has no idea what that is. She is freaking out. She made her house payment last week. Her husband is going to call the bankruptcy attorney tomorrow. With his new job, they can make their house payment’s with no problems now. So, my question is, are they going to be ok? His job pays a lot more then what he was getting. Plus when the bankruptcy went thru their House payments went up. But, this job he has now they now can afford it with no problems.

Where can I get reliable, accurate statistical information about job growth, unemployment, inflation, cost of living, cost of healthcare, number of bankruptcies, number of people on welfare, etc, online? Is there anywhere? I don’t want to go with whitehouse.gov because I don’t exactly trust it. However, I do believe there IS a government agency that keeps track of some of those things. I’d accept their email or phone number, but I’d also like any independent organizations anyone can give me.
