My husband I are going to be in the process of filing chapter 7 tomorrow when I drop off our payment but had a question.. How will they tell which creditors to notify of us filing bankruptcy when we dont receive actual statements since most of our accounts were on paperless pay online type of things and when i log on they disable the accounts and ask to call them, and I cut up all the credit cards.. can they do a credit check and notify my creditors that way? I’ve never gone thru this before and curious how they would do that since we have sooo many creditors and hard to keep track of who we get statements from and who we dont thanks

I currently have 2 checking accounts. I am considering filing Chapter 7 Bankruptcy next month. I know my bank accounts will be frozen during bankruptcy but will they be opened & usable after the bankruptcy is over with?

I am filing chapter 7 bankruptcy, but have a case w/ the EEOC against my former employer for discrimination. If I receive back wages or a cash settlement, will I be able to keep that money?

I live in Indiana, I’m filing chapter 7 bankruptcy, found another home I would love to buy, and that I can actually afford this time! I’ve been told that it is possible to buy a house even one day after disclosure, does anyone know of a mortgage company that will do this?

After credit counseling filing chapter 7 has been recommended since I am on disability and working only part time. Problem is attorneys I’ve contacted want 00, 500 upfront before they’ll even submit the paperwork. Obviously I do not have this. Legal aid is not available in my county or city for bankruptcy. Can I just get the paperwork from the clerk of courts and do it myself?

We’re looking into filing chapter 7 (not the prettiest option but honestly the only at this point) and hoping to save some money. While I’ve considered attempting to do it myself (we have a straightforward bankruptcy and qualify by a longshot) I did see there are quite a few online companies which could make it easier and be more affordable than an attorney. Yes, an attorney is still the safest bet but I’m wondering if there are any online companies anyone are aware of that aren’t a total crock (which, unfortunately, is most of what I’m seeing!) Thanks in advance.
